In this lecture Emeritus Professor David Thomas, Professor of Christianity and Islam at the University of Birmingham describes how in more than fourteen hundred years of encounters, Christians and Muslims have developed a great range of perceptions of one another, some accurate but many not so. By tracing the outlines of this history, underlying attitudes can be detected that have influenced relations from the earliest times. Can anything be learnt from this history? If so, what? How can the lessons be put into practice in the present and future? You can find the video of the lecture here
