WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE

Welcome to my website, Christian and Muslim Perspectives.  My aim in creating this site is to help bring about a better understanding, a better perspective, of either faith when viewed from the standpoint of the other.  There have been disagreements since Islam came to Arabia in Late Antiquity, and there will remain disagreements.  The real point of the site is to try to engender well informed disagreements rather than those supported by prejudice and dogma.

This is a personal website, created in response to friendships where neither I, nor my Muslim friends feel that we have to compromise our faith and seek the ‘lowest common denominator’.  The foundation of our friendship is our shared humanity and our longing to be faithful to God and serve Him well, for our own well-being and the welfare of our community.

All I’m asking is that you are prepared to make space for the viewpoint of the ‘other’, with whom you disagree, and allow them to help you see them, as well as yourself, from their perspective.  Also, to be prepared if needed, to readjust your perspective as you take into account their perspective.
